Uplink Cellular Digital devices provide wireless communications between your alarm system
and your alarm monitoring company.
Most alarm systems are linked to a physical phone line
(land line) that sends signals to our central station monitoring company. If your telephone service has been interrupted because
of a service outage or if the telephone line is cut intentionally or not, the land line alarm signal cannot be sent. Uplink
Cellular creates a redundant communications path to central station allowing our representatives to respond to your signal.
How does cellular monitoring work?
-
A digital cellular transceiver is installed in your
security alarm panel.
-
A cellular monitoring service contract is established.
-
When your alarm system sends a signal via the cellular
transceiver, the monitoring company receives the signal just like a landline signal.
The alarm system cannot tell the difference between a standard phone line and a cellular line. When an alarm signal is sent the alarm system will first look for a landline dial tone. If none is
available it will then look for the cellular line dial tone. The first available dial tone is what your alarm panel will use
to contact central station.
Cellular communications are great solutions for facilities that do not have access to conventional
telephone service. Whether conventional telephone service is available or not,
the only requirement for cellular alarm monitoring is the availability of a cellular signal.
